Websites like Digg

WebSites like DiggDigg.com is one of the largest websites. Everybody loves Digg.com and everyone reads Digg. If you want your blog’s traffic to grow, make Digg love you.  If Digg will love you, the search engines will love you. So, Digg is a star, and there are lots of other websites like Digg, which follow the same principle and so they can be called “the followers” or “websites like Digg“. Here they are, the most important one, Mixx, Reddit, Kirtsy, Buzz Up!, Mr Wong, and less familiar:

Sphinn Internet Marketing News and Discussion Forums. It’s design allows you to easily view the various topics on search engine marketing, internet marketing, search marketing or latest marketing news.  The differences between Digg and Sphinn are that if your Sphinn account is less than 1 day old, you will not be able to submit the article and for the first week of your account being active, you will be limited to 1 post per a 24 hour period.

PlugIM“PlugIM is a user driven internet marketing community.  Submit content, share articles, comment on projects and promote your favorites to the front page.  If it’s internet marketing related, plug it on PlugIM.”

Design FloatDesign Float, “taking its cue from Digg, has come up with a community-run news outfit whose sole focus is design. Design related stories are collected, voted on and ranked. The stories receiving the most votes get top spots on the homepage while those that aren’t so hot get shipped to the bottom. Sites can be submitted by any user, once registered. All content is neatly categorized so you’ll be able to sort out typography from CSS. Entries can also be arranged according to date and popularity. For easier submission, DesignFloat has a series of widgets as well as a bookmarklet for FireFox, IE, and Opera. The site’s also got a RSS feed.”

DZone is a free link-sharing community for developers. On DZone anyone can submit new links to the incoming queue. The members vote on upcoming links to determine what gets promoted. Like Digg, everyone can browse, search and comment on links.

Pixel Groovy “is the community driven way of finding and sharing the best computer learning resources & tutorials out there. Built on the idea that not all tutorials are created equal, the goal is to create a place where people can find geniune, reliable and informative resources. What does this do for you? Say you find a really good Photoshop tutorial or a really cool trick in Mac OS X, just submit it to Pixel Groovy, people will find it and if enough people groove the information, it will be promoted to the homepage so the masses will enjoy the information. In return, you will be able to learn from the tutorials other people submit..”

DigaList - “Dig a List. Dig out a list in your heart. Dig out a list you like.” The difference between DigaList and Digg is that DigaList lists websites. Your favorite songs/movies, life hack tips, funny jokes…all this are listed.  You can create Content-rich lists in a world of texts, pictures, and not only resource links. Lists with the similar topic can be put into a series. You can find many same-topic lists. Many people can co-build a huge list! Great lists may be done by mass people!

TagNe.ws is a web 2.0 application that allows you to submit an article that will be reviewed by all and will be promoted, based on popularity, to the home page. When a user submits a news article, this article will be placed in the “upcoming” area until it gains sufficient votes to be promoted to the home page.

Post on firePostOnFire is a social bookmarking service for bloggers & blog readers. Here you can discover, vote and submit blog posts including yours. Also, you have 3 PostOnFire widgets for your blog:  PostOnFire Buttons,  PostOnFire Badges and  External Vote Button.

Blogging Zoom is a place where bloggers can share content that they and other bloggers have written. Blogging Zoom is the perfect place to go for people that are tired of the mainstream media and content. The users of Blogging Zoom determine which content is valuable and which content isn’t. “Zooming” or voting positively for a post or article will give more exposure to it and with enough Zooms, your content will hit the front page to be showcased to the masses. The mission of Blogging Zoom is to give every blogger, popular or not, a chance to showcase their content and talents.

DipLinks.com is a community based links sharing website edited by DipLinks members. If you are aware of any Blog, News, Story, or any interesting issue, you can share it with others on DipLinks.

Great in-depth list you’ve got here. I’ve also created a digg-like social news site you may want to add to your list. You can find it at: http://solinkable.com

Thanks again for the list!

Good post Iulian, there are quite a few of these sites I’ve never come across, but will be checking them out today. Digg and Mixx are by far my favorites, get good traffic and organic rankings from both. Once again good post, I’ll be busy today with these.
